Chain Of Love – Thank You

By | Charitable Giving | No Comments

Thank you for all your amazing support for Chain of Love 2024! We raised over $27,500 to support our sister Church and School, St. Benoit, in Mombin Crochu, Haiti! Every dollar equaled a domino in our huge domino chain that we toppled on Monday. It was truly a sight to see! We are so proud of Team Domino and everyone who contributed from the School and Church to make this happen for the 19th year. When our community comes together with love, we are LIMITLESS in how we can make a difference!

Word of the Week

ASCENSION

Ascension Day is the occasion on which the risen Christ is taken into heaven after appearing to his followers for forty days (Acts 1:1-11, Mk 16:19). The Ascension marks the conclusion of Jesus’ post resurrection appearances. It is the the final elevation of his human nature to divine glory and the near presence of God. The Ascension is affirmed by the Nicene and Apostles’ Creeds. It is celebrated on Ascension Day, the Thursday that is the fortieth day of the Easter season. It is a principle feast of the church year in the Episcopal Church.

Struggle.

Everyone experiences struggle at some point. The effect it has on a human body can be profound at times. Stress and trauma affect each of us differently so a wellness strategy should be multifaceted.

During our time together participants can find a safe space to learn about resources and find a community of fellow travelers. The group will use Scarred by Struggle, Transformed by Hope by Sr. Joan Chittister as an optional text as background for discussion. The class will begin on Sunday, May 5th at 9AM in the St. John’s Room.

Facilitated by Dr. Tara Wright and Fr. Ram Lopez.

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE BIBLE SCRIPTURES

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

St. George Episcopal Church would like to present a special gift to each of our high school graduates to mark this momentous milestone in their lives, and we need your help. We will give each high school graduate a personalized Bible with scripture blessings from our parishioners highlighted throughout each bible.

If you have one or more favorite scriptures you want to share and have highlighted in the graduates’ Bibles, email your list to Happy Wilson at by noon on Tuesday, April 30th.

We hope these Bibles will be a treasured source of guidance and inspiration for our graduates as they begin this new journey. We thank you for your contributions!
