Vivienne Spy
Accompanist & Keyboard Specialist
Vivienne moved from her home in Sydney, Australia to study Piano Performance with John Perry at the University of Southern California. She had been identified as a budding musician at the age of four when, in her first public performance on the tambourine (dressed as a monkey), she was able to keep time for 5 minutes while the rest of the children sang and marched. Piano lessons with a Suzuki Violin teacher quickly followed. Fortunately, she was admitted into the Sydney Conservatorium at age 9 where she studied with Alexandra Vinokurov. Vivienne held the position of Accompanist Coordinator at the University of the Pacific before moving to San Antonio. Subsequently learning to play harpsichord and organ has afforded Vivienne a career including varied musical styles including rock, pop and Broadway. Vivienne holds the position of Principal Keyboard of the Colorado Music Festival, Keyboardist at St George Episcopal Church and is a frequently hired performer with the San Antonio Symphony. Blissfully married to husband Bruce Mitchell, they are blessed with 4 children, slightly hampered by 4 dogs and burdened with 1 parrot.
